In Turkish entertainment life, music hall culture was very common in the
past. It is also continues today but the 60's and 70's was the climax of
that type of nightlife. Of course those music halls were the loyal clients of
the Turkish advertising agencies. They were promoted in newspapers very often.
And also those type of ads used very large advertisement spaces. They were
visually strong and as much as highest quality in the conditions of its period.
It was very interesting culture in that time. There were highly famous singers
like Müzeyyen Senar and Zeki Müren but also there was movie stars and comedians
also participate in shows of music hall. If there is research about the Turkish
advertising history, music hall ads should be part of it.
